Pearls and Lace Thursday #125 Pink and Cream Collage Inspiration

Pink and Cream Collage Inspiration

I know...it's not Thursday and I'm early, but who cares!  Maybe I should change my party day to Tuesday??
Pearls and Lace Tuesday?  How does that sound to y'all???
I have collected a TON of pinks and creams and spent a good amount of time thinking about a collage I want to work on.  The color scheme was easy to come up with, but I wanted to put it all out on a table and see what it looked like before I started the actual piece.
Please give me your opinion.  Do you see anything that stands out as NOT belonging??

I pulled out as many of my favorites as I thought would work with my pink and cream scheme.
All shades of white and pink were included, but not bright pink.  I went with more of a rosy pink and its shades.  The darkest piece behind the bindings is a never used card that an old fashioned picture would have been attached to.  I also have one in a lighter shade, more brownish.
The coronation cord (in the picture above touching the bottom of the picture) is one type of trim that I've fallen in love with.  Actually all of the pieces are my favorites...who am I kidding!!

Recent additions to my stash include this pile of awesome turtle lace trim and the lovely lace piece on the left (above).  If you saw my post back in January of last year (here), where I used avocado to dye some of my fabrics and laces a beautiful pink, you will see that I have used some of those pieces in this collection.  I have some dyed muslin, cording, cheesecloth, and some bits of old chenile squares in the group.

I think the one item in this collection that I'm not sure about using is the pink ribbon.  It just seems too bright to me, what do y'all think??

Below is the two piece combination I will use for the base of my newest collage.  I will use the solid pink piece covered by the white organdy piece.  The effect is pretty and will make a nice background I hope, with the pink barely showing through the white.

I always get out WAY too much to actually use on a single piece, but it seems like whatever I get out usually gets used on the next project.  And speaking of 'getting out' items....you know I'm working on my craft room, so some of you have asked how it's going!  Well, it never got there!!  I'm moved over to the new room, but I started working on stuff before I got it perfect!  SO with that said, you will probably have to wait until the summer when we all join in with Karen Valentine for the 'Where Bloggers Create' party!
I hope that by then I will have gotten everything right where I want it, and all the rest put away!

Well, I've just about posted every picture I took!  Sometimes I just get carried away!  And my less than stellar photography is evident!!  Sorry about that folks.  I'm still learning and have a long way to go!
It's time for Pearls and Lace Thursday!!!

I love it when you share your pretties with us!!!  A huge hug to all my newest followers, so happy to meet you!!  And for all of you who join me for the party each week, I've decided to have a HUGE pot of HOT COCOA ready for you.  The wind is howling outside (and I still have internet???), and the fireplace is going.  So be sure and take a minute and warm up by the fireside and grab a cup of chocolate.  Hope you enjoy the party!
Blessings,
Doni

I am drooling over your stash. I would love to know where everyone in blog land finds their beautiful laces. I occasionally find some at a yard sale but rarely.

I always get so excited when I see your posts ! One day early too (We are a day ahead of you). I love everything in your pics. The pink ribbon looks fine to me but maybe the texture is too new looking and that's what doesn't fit ? It's one of those things that you have to feel and touch and see. I am so tired that I could sleep standing up so I will take another look tomorrow. Sending you love and hugs my friend xo

I thoroughly enjoyed looking through your photos. You have some lace and pieces that remind me of the post I did back in January (search for) "Vintage Swatches" - things my mom did with a treadle sewing machine - if you didn't get by to see it, you might want to look at it - a couple of your rose pieces and those strips with the threads gathered are two of the things that are similar.
And, I went over to see your avocado dye post -wow. Had no idea! And your poor husband thinking those were his mistakes in the wind! ;)
Enjoyed your post - Happy Pink Saturday!

Hi :) I agree with you, the pink ribbon is a bit sharp in the color.. I was to late to share but maybe next time :) I wish I could get hold of some of that kind of lace, do you know places to order online.? or is it only in garage sales and flee markeds? Looking forward to see the resolt of what you are making! :D Lisbeth, Norway

Just stopping by to let you know I'm mentioning your blog, this post and the avocado dying post on one of my blogs tomorrow (Just Put The Pan On The Table.)
Loved scrolling down once again and seeing all the lace. And, I never answered the question about the pink ribbon - I agree with you on it.
:) Thanks, Jenn
