It's a Pink Kind of Day

So what do you do when you see a basket sitting there full of pink beauty?
Well you take some pictures of it and share it for Pink Saturday of course!!
Hope you all have a lovely day!

Now what am I going to do with all this pink?  Well, I'm thinking about another Fabric and Lace Collage!
The one below was my first (you can see it in my previous post here).

My New Pink Mirror that Almost Wasn't

Have you ever seen something at a shop, and you fell in love with it, and then NOT bought it?
I did.  BUT, I turned around, drove thirty miles BACK to the store, and bought it!!
A pink mirror.  With etching.  And chippy pink paint.
It was the PERFECT Pink, and the Perfect size.
Wanna see??

Now when I saw it hanging there at her shop, it made my heart happy seeing it....
And when I left the store (finally), I had talked myself out of it.
But...it kept calling my name.  As mile after mile ticked its way under my car, it called louder and louder!!
So I turned around, called her, and she put it at the front for me!
Joy of joys...even my husband likes it!!
I took some pictures of her space at the flea market, so if you're in Mineola, Texas, be sure and stop by and see her pretties!
and by the way, the pink shutters are NOT for sale...but I'm working on her!!
Thanks Kim for my lovely mirror!!

Isn't it pretty hanging there..waiting for me to come by?

I'm in love with this chippy door...it is soooooo cool!  The quilt hanging behind it gives me some great ideas!
I love looking at all the beautiful ways people decorate their shops.  So many awesome ideas are utilized, and I find so many beautiful vignettes that catch my eye.
Hope you enjoyed the pink I shared today.
I will be sharing it in some of the parties listed below!
Be sure and head over to them to see some lovely posts.  I'm always so inspired by you all!

Blessings to you all,
Doni

Pink and Cream: One of My Favorite Combinations

Once I joined my first pink post to the Pink Saturday linky party, I was hooked.
On PINK...and I've been a happy lady ever since!
Here are a few of the pinks I've hoarded found in the last few years.
And if you've been a regular to my blog, you know I almost never have a post that I don't have some type of LACE, or Pearls, or buttons, or thread, or sewing notions, or pretty colors, or music, well you get the gist!

This post all started with the thought that I wanted to have a pink post especially for Pink Saturday today.
Pink buttons being in my mind,I started grabbing whatever I found sitting around in my craft room.
DMC flosses, scissors, laces, spools, you name it I added it!

And the pearls...they were just sitting there in a pile left from my Violin and Lace posts...here and here,
so I HAD to have them too!!

I am in love with the different shades of pinks against the shades of creams...
Like pink icing on a vanilla cake...without the calories!!

bits of bling for sparkle, and pearls for lustre...

Below is another (the first actually) of the background boards I made a few weeks ago.
Very simple and easy, it uses a foam board with one side that has a peel away backing covering the sticky side.  I cut out some of my favorite hymns from an old hymn book, and carefully placed them first across the bottom of the board so that they would all show...trimming sides as needed.
Row two was the top row...again trimming as I went.  I wanted to make sure to stagger the pages, so the middle row I trimmed short hymns to fit along the board an covered all parts of the board.
A total of three rows, two rows (top and bottom) of full pages, and one row (middle) of short hymns.
Actually very fun and I loved the way it turned out!
I chose NOT to Mod-Podge this board because the pages were not brittle, but of course it could be done as I did the board in my previous post (here).

I love playing with my pinks, and laces, and buttons....and ALL of the pretties I have.
I hope you've enjoyed the Pink and Cream's!!
Blessings, Doni

I'm Thinking Pink

It's official.  I have a new favorite color.  It's Pink!
Who knew?  I didn't like it so much as a child, didn't really think about it as a good color for me growing up,
didn't even decorate with it (2 sons and 3 nephews!!).
So.  All because of y'all, I'm now a Pinkster!!!
Everywhere I look, I see something pink that I've just gotta have.
There are some awesome shutters somewhere that I'm so in love with, but alas, not for sale!!
So in the meantime, these will have to do.

The tatted pieces above are my try at an edging I saw in a picture.  I'm working on a longer length now that I've worked out the pattern.

Hope you enjoyed the Pinks in my world!  I'm always on the lookout for more though...just so I can join this party!  Not really.  They are gorgeous and I'm having so much fun using pink in my home.
I'm joining up with the Pink Party People for Pink Saturday!!
and join Beverly for a great weekend of beautiful PINK!!
As well as the Party Show Off Your Cottage Monday
Lots of lovelies!!
Blessings, Doni

Pinks and Pearls for Pink Saturday!

I'm giving y'all a hint for what I have in store for my Pearls and Lace Thursday Party next week...
It's beautiful...it's pearly, and it's lacey!!

Right now it is the center of attention on top of my vanity.  Oh, I know you'll be drooling when you see it.
I hope you love it as much as I do.
AND...
I think it must be time for another GIVEAWAY!!!
Next week that is!
Be watching and getting ready to participate.  I will have some goodies from my stash to give to a sweet someone out there!

Hope you all have a lovely cool weekend with lots of blessings.

Lace Mantilla and Pink Tulle

Isn't that dress absolutely GORGEOUS???
The Lace first caught my eye, then the PINK!!!  This is what my husband found today at the yard sales we went to.  A record album of Kathryn Grayson (pretty name too!), and as soon as I saw it, I knew I'd be doing a Pink Saturday post with it!!
And, at the same place, I found a jewelry box with a lovely pink interior!!

I put a few pieces of eye candy in the box for the party and added some dried roses (from last year...we didn't have but a few very tired sad ones this year).
I'm joining the party over at How Sweet The Sound here:
for Pink Saturday!
And Southern Hospitality for Today's Thrifty Treasures here:

Have a wonderful weekend and a safe Labor Day!

Vintage Pink Sweater paired with Pearls!

The Pink Sweater
It's old.  In fact my mom wore it when she was in High School, then many years later, I wore it when I was in college!  It was one of my favorite things.  That's why I still have it.  I'm 47 and still love it even though I can't wear it anymore.  I didn't have daughters, so perhaps a grand daughter will one day want it.
In the mean time I plan on playing dress up!!!

Yes...these mannequins, dress forms, etc. are just big dolls for us don't you know???

I wouldn't wear all of these pearls out together in PUBLIC!  No way!!  But I can get away with it here is Blogland because we all LOVE pearls and dress forms!!!
Still trying to come up with a name for her.  If you want to see how I decorated her, check my previous post here.  I used music to cover the torso, and I'm lovin' it!!
Thanks for visiting.  I'm joining up with the ever so popular Pink Saturday at How Sweet The Sound here.
Be sure and go over to see all the beautiful Pink posts!!
Blessings to you!
Doni
