Pearls and Lace Thursday Grand Haul of Lace and a New Collage

You know I just can't say NO.
They're not potato chips, nor cookies, nor are they some kind of clothing on sale.
They're LACES!!!
And these are the newest haul.

I've been busy busy busy this last week.  I've been making a huge project...
A fabric and lace collage with a Bible Verse on it:
Philippians 4:8-9
Finally brethren, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are of good report, if ther be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

I have only used the phrase "whatsoever things are" one time to save the space, but the meaning is still the same.  I have had this project in my head for AGES!  Even before I traded the craft room and the guest room back in December and January.  I used my very favorite color combination, pink and cream.
Below is the picture that shows where I am right now:  SEWING!!  BY HAND!  Each element on the word patches has been sewn on already, now I'm sewing the patches and the laces and trims all down to the foundation piece.
I have more pictures that I will share next week, and hopefully the whole collage will be finished by then!!

(by the way, I DID correct the spelling of Philippians so it would be right!!)

It's been a labor of love.  This is one of my husband's favorite verses.

Well, it's time for Pearls and Lace Thursday!!!
Be sure and join the party by clicking on the link below and adding the url code from your post so we can all have a look at your pretties!!
Hugs to each of you who joined me last week!  I have to say, you all inspire me so much!!
Hope you each have a wonderful rest of the week,
Blessings,
Doni

What a lovely idea and so much easier than cross stitch or embroidering all the words!

I love to focus on the beautiful verse you have shared on difficult days. God always uses His beautiful Word to speak to me and encourage me.

Doni, Thank you for identifying the lace type in the needlework sample on black. (The tape lace or turtle lace).
When I bought the large doily I thought it was tatting, then I decided parts seemed like crochet. Then I just became uncertain that I could identify tatting or anything. Are you sure it's tatting? If you open the image in a new window, you will see it in hugely magnified detail. I tried tatting for about 3 hours total in my life and decided it was TOO SLOW.

I love your huge collection, and hope you will identify things for me periodically, and correct my mistakes. I have many more lace pieces, although not the volumes you have.

I love lace.

I would love to see your Grandmother's compote...and, especially in red. My very favorite color has been RED for many years.

Wow, that's beautiful! I can't wait to see more pictures! Is this something you would frame or more like a throw for a chair? Just gorgeous!

Thanks for the party! I'm a little late linking up today. Hope you're having a nice night. This week's Homemaking Linkup is up and I would love to have you join, if you haven’t already.
