Pearls and Lace Thursday #86 Vintage Threads #1

I know...I've already posted about thread.  A LOT!
But there's just something about them.
Their colors, their sheen, the shape of the spools and cards.
The items made by them and the potential for lovely hand-made items.
They just make me happy to look at!
What do you think?
And today is the day for Pearls and Lace Thursday link party!!  Get your post ready to share with us!

OK...the picture above this and the picture below this are the exact same picture...the only difference being that the one above was NOT resized, and the one below WAS.
Question:  Do you resize your pictures?  And if you do, does it make a difference on your blog post as to the
clarity?  It took twenty minutes for blogger to upload the picture above, and about five seconds to upload the picture below.
PLEASE let me know what you do!!

The rest of the pictures I will share today are resized using a version of free ware called PIXresizer
that I uploaded from the web.
I just don't have the time to sit here and let them upload in their full sizes.  Maybe I'm just doing it wrong!!!

Anyway...here are a few more shots of my vintage threads.  I find them full of charm.

Is anyone else having problems with Blogger today???  It seems really sluggish even on the resized pics now!
OK...at least I got them posted!!!
Join me for Pearls and Lace Thursday!!!
Add your url code for your post to the link below.
I'm going to be joining in on a few parties too, so be sure and look at the list of my favorite parties in my sidebar and see all the pretties this week.
Blessings, Doni

Yes, resizing does diminish the quality of the photo, but like you, I don't do it all the time, because it takes forever and a day!

Thanks for hosting again this week - love all your vintage threads - gorgeous!

Blessings,

Hi Doni,
Your vintage notions are wonderful. They would be pretty all displayed in a glass jar. Just lovely. Thank you for hosting the party.

Love the threads and vintage items in the pictures. I don't resize any pictures that I post, whether they be put on blogger or another website.

A very nice assortment of threads. I would not attempt to re-size anything. If I did, I would probably destroy everything. I just do the basic and hope it works.

What beautiful threads!

Instead of resizing, I have been taking a screen shot selection of the picture. It does take away from the clarity a little, but it loads faster. I feel like my images aren't that large anyways so its hard to see a significant difference.

LOvely ! I love thread, embroidery floss, well almost all vintage sewing items.
I resize in PhotoShop so don't have a problem with photos loading and I don't think it affects the quality...it's my picture taking skills that do that LOL

Love your vintage threads. I would love all the pink spools in my sewing room, they would be right at home. I was only able to link up to one of the three parties I wanted to tonight. On two of the blogs the linky pics never did show up. I think there is something weird in blog land going on today.

Oh I love vintage threads,I have a box of vintage silk threads and love using them.
I use piccasa 3 to load my photo's from my camera to. Then I export them to my pictures at a reduced size. Then when I post, they are already reduced. Hope this is of help.
