A Few Favorites

Are there things you have that you have and absolutely won't ever ever give up?
Here are a few of my fave's...
The volumes of Junior Classics that I'm trying to finish collecting.
I have all but volumes 1, 2, 3, and 9...I'm really hoping to find them all.

These tiny balls of tatting thread are new to me...a gift from the daughter-in-law of one of my favorite little ladies who passed away a few years ago.  Miss Eva Jo was a wonderful little lady.  My husband met her first, and when he and I married, she became a dear person in my life.
It was so sweet of her dil to think of me when she came across these last week, wasn't it??

This old volume contains some absolutly awesome chapters about growing up.  Written from a Christian perspective, each chapter deals with a single subjet and the words of wisdom from the ages is not only still relevant today, but much needed!  I wish books like this were must-reads for those in their teen years.

The Royal Path of Life
Isn't that a wonderful title?

Below is a picture of a giveaway over at Spunbyme!!
She's having a huge lace giveaway, so go by and check it out!

Wishing you each a lovely weekend!!
Blessings, Doni

Those look like wonderful books. I love the colors and I bet the writing is wonderful too. I collect a few vintage books, they are just treasures to me and no value to anyone else:)
Have a great weekend.

I love the title of that book too - it makes you want to aspire to living better. The things I have that I won't ever give up are the things given to me by those I love, who have loved me too. Precious mementos of their lives that they thought would inspire me - the best of treasures! Love your blog by the way - I'll be a regular!

Oh, I loved looking at EVERY photo...so cool...LOVE vintage stuff and books. I have some old vintage books..I should display them sometime...one I remember is a story called "Freckles"...It was my grandmother's book, about a kid with one arm...I think...but I can't remember exactly. Anyway...another I have is by Henry Van Dyke called "The Blue Flower"...there's an old film from the 30s or 40s with the same title...I remember an old color film about the search for this rare blue rose...
Anyway...I hope you find the missings sets of books to complete your collection. you might try Powell's in Portland, Oregon. They take online orders...AND you can put in a request for a book...if you're looking for it...and they'll notify you, if they find it!!! It's like THE place to go to for used books..

Oh, I'm in heaven with all the lovely treasures here!! So nice. Thanks for sharing them with us today :) :) love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

Oh, I forgot to ask about those lovely tatting threads. I purchased a few tiny spools of what I thought was crochet cotton at a thrift shop. They're small enough to fit inside a teacup. Now I'm thinking that it might be fore tatting instead. How can you tell the difference? Anyway, I LOVE the colors...what a neat gift!!! Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
