Green Tea?

I hate to admit this, but I don't like hot tea.
There, I said it.
Now, I like it iced, but I've never been fond of it hot.
So what's my problem???
Do you have any tips that might make it possible for me to enjoy the
pasttime of drinking hot tea?
Is it the cup??
Because if it is:
I've got it made!

I think I found this cup at a flea sale.  I couldn't believe it was just sitting there waiting for me!
And I'd like you to also see something else in green.
It's a set of servers, from England.  They are marked, but my picture was blurry, so I didn't use it.
The letters are stamped on the back of the pieces and are:
PRIMES?  Then EP on another mark with others stamps of
I F & S  and another S.
Don't know if they're all correct, because it was hard for me to see it much less get a picture of it!

Can anyone tell me anything about the mark?  I don't even know what language this is!!
Russian?  French?
My husband thinks it says, "swatorhthicth shehloghhslnmandoth"
At least that's what it sounded like when he tried. LOL!!
He loves this little cup.  I think he prefers the greens.
I'm going to be linking up with the fun TEA PARTIES!!!
See the list on the sidebar to the right???  There are a bunch of Tuesday Tea Parties listed there and I'm on my way to add my post to them all!
Be sure and jump over there and check them out.  You won't be sorry!!
LOTS of gorgeous teacups and tea things....
It will make you want a cup of tea...that is if you like it!!!
Blessings, Doni

100th Post Giveaway And New Teacup

I'm so excited and just want you all to come by and enter the giveaway!
and all the information as well as pictures of the objects in the Giveaway will be there.
Be sure and leave any comments for entering at the Pearls and Lace Thursday Post, not this one.

Take the button above and add it with the link to the sidebar of your blog for extra chances to win!

Here's a picture of all of the items that are included in the Giveaway.  Only the dried hydrangeas and the background cloth are not included.

NOW for the Teacup!
I've been looking high and low for cups and saucers.  It seems to me that finding them is a hard thing to do!
Unless I go to ebay (which by the way did you know that sellers can stop an auction just because they don't like what the winning bids will end up being?? I NEVER thought ebay would allow that! Seems they do!  Is it just me or does that just sound like a scam??)
or etsy, I can't find many at all.
BUT, I went to a number of sales the past month and this is one of the sweet cups I found.

This sweet cup and saucer were just sitting there in the hot sun, waiting for ME to come and save them from...well, just to come and buy them!  I asked if there were any more available and the nice ladies said, no, no others.  So this is the cup and saucer that found a home with me.  They are in perfect condition and I'm delighted with the cobalt blue edgings and gold designs that make this set so elegant.

I also fell in love with this doily (ebay) and want to try to make one of my own.  I've been crocheting a lot lately, and have a new love!  From only crocheting afghans previously, I found out that I love making doilies!  More of those later!

Hope you all have a lovely Tuesday, and please be sure and join me for the parties below.
Also, Don't forget to enter my 100th Post Giveaway!!!

May each of you have a marvelous week!
Blessings, Doni

Waterfall Teacup and Upcoming Giveaway!!

Demi Tasse set # 7
It's another sweet little set that was made in Japan.  This one has a scene painted on it that has a very intricate scene on it.  The cup shows a waterfall and tree, with a lovely blue sky.  The water appears to be flowing along into the saucer which has a sweet covered bridge depicted with the water flowing underneath.  A pathway is painted alongside, and hills overlook the peaceful scene.
It is not anything like the others, and I've never seen another one similar to it.

I've been delighted with these little cups and saucers and have purchased a few more examples to add to the collection.  But for the picture above, with the pink doily, I've now shared each one with you!
Many thanks for your delightful comments and friendly words.  I always love Tuesdays because of the fun Tea Parties!!

I want to thank Martha from Martha's Favorites for the LOVELY brooch and GORGEOUS blue plate she sent me for being the winner of her giveaway!!!!!

Demi Tasse set #2

Some day...it will be quite a few days into the future, I will be a grandmother of a little girl or two who might want to join me for a Tea Party!  Nothing 'brewing' as of yet, but we've got lots of time.
In the mean time, I'm collecting sets of cups and saucers in the 'Demi Tasse' or small cup size for that happy day!!  I hope I have granddaughters...with 2 sons and 3 nephews, I just don't know!!

The Pink Demitasse has just a hint of pink on the outside...it looks like it could be a reflection from the pink doily beneath it it's so light...
It has some beautiful flowers inside, just where you can enjoy them while drinking your cup of hot tea (or as I prefer coffee, perhaps a nice hot cup of coffe on a cold morning!).

The pink is so delicate that you can't even tell it's there in this picture, but it is! A very very light pink on the outside rim of this saucer.  So delicate and pretty!

The markings on the bottom reads: Old Ivory, Syracuse China
OPCO made in America
I think the handle looks like a bat wing!
The gold gilt around the edges and on the handle are thick and perfectly painted.
I think I'll rank this one as one of my favorites!  Oh my, now I have a LOT of favorites!
And more to go next week!!!

I'm joining up with these wonderful Tea Parties this week.  Please go by and visit each one and check out all the beautiful blogs that are joining in the parties.

Demi Tasse Tea Finds!

Tiny Teacups and Saucers, pictured on a vintage pink doily that was just perfect for displaying them.
I have seven sets now that I can share with you all!
The first set is from Japan and has hand painted flowers which are many colors.
It has the distinction of being the tiniest one of the whole collection.

The bottom of the cup says "Occupied Japan".  My picture of it was all blurry so I didn't post it.
I will share the rest of the cups in the weeks to come!
I'm joining all the Tea Parties below for a special Tuesday of Teatime Fun!!!
Be sure and follow the links and look and see the beauty shared by some awesome ladies!
Thank you to all the sweet hostesses for all of their time and effort!!
Blessings!!

Teacup Love

When you see a teacup and saucer, do you think, I just have to have that one?  Or do you see all teacups and saucers as "must have's"?  I have to say, I am picky.  If I don't like it, I won't purchase it.

This one is a very pretty flowered cup and saucer.  The inside of the cup has two floral motifs in it, I guess one for a left handed person and a right handed person to drink from and still enjoy the image!
I saw a beautiful set of teacups and saucers on ebay that I almost bid on...except for the fact that the teacups only had outside images on one side of the cup!! And that was only showing if left handed persons were using the cups!  Am I wrong?  Don't you think a cup of tea should at least have an image on the side where a right handed person would use it?  Now I don't have anything at all against a left handed person.  Some of my favorite people are left handed, but I'm just asking a question.  What do y'all think?

This little gem was found at a yard sale.  I just love yard sales.  The more the better!
Be sure and come back tomorrow evening and hook up with me for Pearls and Lace Thursday!!!
I have a GORGEOUS hand painted bowl to share with you that you won't want to miss!!
Blessings!

Would You Like Some Cream With Your Tea?

I was expecting my youngest son when I purchased these ceramic cows.
That was over 21 years ago!!!
I just couldn't resist them. I had this thing for Holsteins when I was in college, and I've always loved cows anyway, so when I saw them, well, it was a done deal!

The teacups, creamer and sugar bowl were a recent find at a yard sale down the road from us.

That's another thing I can't resist...china. Especially PRETTY china!
The mark on the bottom is from Poland. So hard for me to get a good shot with my little ol' camera! Sorry! I usually just forget to get the bottom!!
I'm joining in with all the lovely ladies below for Tuesday Teas!
Please look at each one and join in with us for a fabulous Tea Party Tuesday!!
Blessings,
Doni

Hello Kit-Tea!

So Where's the Kit-Tea? Just look below!

This charming print was a sweet find that now has a home with me!!
I thought it was so cute! The frame is really beautiful too.
And now for the teacups and plate...my HUSBAND found them!!!
Yes, he now has the eye, and his training is going well.
I think he deserves an A+ for this test!!

This Vintage Music is just the perfect background for a lovely tea vignette. Can you just hear the strains of a lovely piano-forte or harpsichord playing something as romantic as a piece called
'Dear Heart'? I thought the music itself was just beautiful.
Here are some close-ups that I'd love to see y'all use for some of your beautiful crafts!!!

I'm linking up with the Tuesday Tea parties listed below. Please go by and visit each one of these blogs and check out the parties listed. You will get a real treat!!

Blues, Teas, Rhinestones, and Brooches!

The Fun of the Hunt:
Garage Sales, small town stores, and Goodwill!
What awesome finds this month.
The two handpainted brooches in this post are the ones I mentioned in my previous post.
I just couldn't let them get away! And the blue book is one of 3 childrens books that I found at a local store. Aren't they darling?? One blue, one pink and one lavender.

This teapot is from my mother's collection. I think it's called Windsor. At least that's what is on the bottom of it. The details of the ring of flowers around it is so sweet.
I love all the different colors. It matches my new books!

The 3rd brooch is painted with lavender and purple. It looks perfect perched on the new book.

I have been unusually blessed with the earrings I've found recently. I love the look of rhinestones, and whenever I see some, I get them if they aren't too high priced.
They are so sweet!! I love the way they look, like they could be worn to an evening Symphony performance with a black dress.

These are the marks on the bottom of the teapot. I sure do wish I liked tea....
I'm a coffee person!!

I just found that Kathy is having a new blog party called Victoria Blog Part. It looks to be a wonderful addition to the Tuesday parties and so I'm joining in on the first one!!!

I find that my stack of Victoria Magazines sit in handy places and that I refer back to them constantly...they've become a huge part of my life, and a huge part of why I love the style I do.

Pull out your Vintage copies of Victoria and join in the new party!!

Come and see!!
