Beethoven's Bust and Beautiful Books Bonanza

Well, it seems Blogger is Broken, or at least not feeling well! I'm going to try to post anyway, because I want to share some new finds! The bust above is of Beethoven. He is one of my favorite composers, and I've always loved his music. Now...I play the violin, not the piano, but when a few weeks ago I came across these books of piano-forte pieces, I knew I had to get them.

Who would have thought that in a little tiny town near me I'd run across these?? They are wonderful! I'll never be able to play the music, but I can tell that someone way back there loved and practiced many hours from these books. They are volumes 1 and 2, and they are full of wonderful Beethoven compositions.

When I found them, my first thought was "oh my, what a find!". So I asked their price. The lady who owned them and had them in her garage sale asked me a few questions...first, "Do you play the piano?". Well, no I answered her, but I play the violin and peck at the piano! She was happy with my answer and told me that she really hoped the books would be sold to a music lover!! Wonderful! For me!

So, they are now home with me and happily resting on my little piano, next to their composer. Beethoven's bust by the way was a present from my mom. A present that was intended to be a 'gag' gift!! Little did she realize that it was PERFECT for me! I've treasured him and taken care of him now for many years.

Hopefully in the near future Blogger will be fixed and everyone can post again without the tortures of 'code' and no centering or changing colors of print!! Or size! We live in a world now of computers and microwaves, so maybe a little Beethoven and timeless music is what we can use for a while. Maybe I'll peck a bit at the piano music in a little while....AFTER Dallas beats San Antonio for the Basketball Playoffs!!!

Hi Doni,
I enjoy Beethoven's music myself! So does my youngest son. The bust you found is very nice, as are the books! Thanks for sharing and hope to have you stop by for Tea Time.

Blessings,
Sandi
