First Graces and First Prayers
These are books by Tasha Tudor, the famed and loved author and illustrator
of lovely childrens books. The pictures inside are wonderful. Full of colors that delight the eye.
The inscription in the front is more lovely handwriting: these books are
from my beloved godparents who treated us like we were their grandchildren.
the depiction of childhood and love. Prayers and Graces.
Makes me think of a little child's head bowed as he kneels at the bedside,
Makes me think of a little child's head bowed as he kneels at the bedside,
saying his nightly prayers:
"Deah Woahd"
(that's what it sounded like when my own little son prayed)

Hi Doni,
What a wonderful treasure; precious! I am still a bit 'under the weather' but I managed to get a post up. Thank you for hosting and I pray you have a beautiful day.
Blessings,
Sandi
Hi Doni,
I just found your site and it is really beautiful. I am now a follower. I love this post. I worked as a pastor in the Methodist church for some time and someone donated a stack of this kind of beautiful old gem. They are so precious that I have them in my china cabinet.
Blessings,
Mary
Your lovely table vignette is so soft and romantic!
I so LOL'ed at your comment on my page about putting flowers in Humpty Dumpty's head! So funny!
Have a lovely Friday!
Cheers!

Oh, Doni, I love these sweet, sweet books. What wonderful memories they must hold for you of your childhood. You have them displayed so beautifully with the pearls and lace. I hope you have the loveliest of weekends, dear friend! Blessings and love! Vicki
Hi Doni!
Gosh girl, one day when I stay home for an extended amount of time, I want to play "pearls and laces" with you one Thursday!!!
What treasured heirlooms you have above...so sweet that you kept them all this time.
I wanted to stop in and tell you...
I was at an antique fair this weekend when I stumbled on a candy tin just like the one in your profile photo...I IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT OF YOU! However, I had it in my hand to buy but next to it was a "Jacob's chocolate tin" from New Orleans...I had to have it. I couldn't do both, so being from Louisiana...I chose the "Jacob's tin" (but I still thought of you anyway!!!!)
