A Look At Some Lovelies

Hello to you all!!  I am so excited about the comments y'all left me about my craft room!!  Thank you each so much for taking the time to let me know what you thought!  I thoroughly enjoyed getting it ready for you!
If you are looking for the post of my craft room, I have it on the sidebar at the top of the page.  And a huge welcome to my newest followers as well!!

This week I have been engrossed in trying to put together another post using the lace making pieces of trim and braid that I love.  I'm always on the lookout and I recently came across a few more and added them to my collection and would like to share them with you.

This little pair of black embroidery scissors has been hiding from me for the last few years.  I have wanted to find them so bad so that I could use them in my blog pictures!  I had to unload the top shelf of one of the 4 closets that I have stored my hoards of items in to finally locate them.  They weren't actually lost, just hiding from me...

I think there's something so nostalgic about the packages.  Perhaps they were stored in a box or a drawer someplace for years.  Probably so because they are in great condition.  These examples were never used.
I love the texture and the aged coloring, even the bits of rust spotted here and there add to the beauty.

This particular example is one of the latest.  It took me 2 days to iron and lightly starch each medallion!!
I'm not usually so careful about my laces, but this braid was stretched out so much that you couldn't tell what it was!  I think it turned out beautifully!  And trying to find a way to store it was hard.  But a handy roll of crochet thread made for a perfect place to keep it crisp and pristine.

I have more to share, but I'll wait for another post for those pics.  I hope you love seeing these trims and braids.  I think I'm hooked.  I can never have enough!!
And oh my oh my, have y'all seen the new Victoria magazine with the linens and monograms all throughout????  I clutched it tightly, um, saw it tonight at Walmart totally by accident and it just flipped itself into my cart.  What was I to do????
I hope you are all having a lovely July.  Here in Texas we are experiencing some of the coolest, yes coolest temperatures in the last 70 years for July!!  It's been wonderful!  But back to the 100's this coming week.

Blessings,
Doni

Dear Doni, your trims and laces are so beautiful and the love and care you have given to restore their beauty is so precious. Yes, isn't it wonderful having such temperatures here in South Texas, it is usually a lot hotter. We are blessed Dear Doni and we sure did need a break. Hugs, Beverly

There is a side to me that adores this sweet lace and finery. My Craftroom doesn't reflect that, but how I love to visit your Craftroom and the photos, too. When we moved to this home, I thought I might do a shabbier crafting space, but it did not happen, lol! So, it's extra delightful to visit your Craftroom. My grandmother left me every single bit of her sewing. Every piece of lace. Every wooden spool. I do cherish each piece.

Oh Doni I am salivating ! That medallion lace......sigh !!!!!
I am missing my blogging but my flowers seem to have carted me away to another place for the moment. I have been thinking of you constantly and have been wondering how you are. I have a friend who is over in France and should be returning soon with a bundle of goodies. Sometimes she has them shipped over later but mostly she always brings back lace and monograms. That is where I got the monogram lace piece for you that time. I am so excited to see what she has bought back this time. Don't worry, I will definitely think of you my sweet friend ! Life would be ever so boring if we didn't share our loves and passions. I love seeing all of your divine collection and your pretty photographs. I wanted to tell you that I used some of your ribbon that you gave me the other day in a flower order. It looked so lovely and I know that the lady who receieved it loves vintage so your gift will now be appreciated by another vintage girly ! .....smile.
Thinking of you and still gathering a few things destined to find their way to your door. xoxo

Oh my word... my heart is pounding looking at all of the sweetest treasures ever!! That lace!! Swoon!! What a fabulous collection you have! I tend to hoard mine and never want to use it, but when I create something and add bits of vintage anything to it, it makes me smile!!! Thanks for following my poor, neglected blog! And by the way, my room doesn't always look so clean, most of the time the counters are piled with projects!!! LOL!!
Have a lovely day, just adored looking at the pictures!!!
Hugs,
Teri

Doni,
Ahhhhhh....so gorgeous!!!!! I love your lace and pearls and threads and that HEMSTITCHING that you can sew on????amazing, I didn't know they did such a thing! it is impossible to find a REAL hemstitcher these days! I will find one however! I am determined!
I have been looking for some thin lace similar to some you have in your pictures. the tiny version of the medallions that is just a gauzy look, to the left of the spool of pink thread in picture # 1. Or the piece just below that same spool...I just LOVE it!
I will keep looking, it is good to know it's out there!
enjoy your gorgeous stuff!

Betsy

Hi doni, thankyou for your message and apologies for not finding it sooner. my computer finally died and went to computer heaven. All that I am left with is a portable hard drive full of my last few years.......sigh. That is why I dislike technology.
I have just borrowed my hubby's work computer to contact you.
My friend has just arrived back from France and she is waiting for her containers to arrive full of French lace and other sewing bits and bobs. When they arrive I will send you another little package over to enjoy.
It sounds like you have all been boiling hot over there. We have just had our first week of Spring and it is already hitting 30 degree temps. It makes me think that we are in for a very hot Summer. It can get hot here in Australia and I am not a fan of it at all. Even living on the cost doesn't help all that much. Hopefully the weather has cooled off a little for you now and you can start getting some relief. Summer is too hot to do crafting anyway.
My flowers are keeping me really busy. I have lots of weddings booked in and also day to day orders. I absolutely love it !
I plan on blogging again but I will have to wait until I can buy a new computer.
Until then I will say hi when ever I get a chance.
sending you my love and friendship.
Melanie xo
