Pearls and Lace, My Favorites!

Wedding Lace

So, how do I get my groove back??
I've Pinned, I've blogged, I've played with all my goodies, but I'm still feeling grooveless.
Just not getting back into the excitement of blogging again.
I wanted to show y'all a few more pictures of this gorgeous wedding bib that I have displayed on one of my dress forms. It is probably one of the best pieces I own! And I've loved looking at it and dreaming about its history. I know for a fact that it was worn as the front piece for a wedding. The piece came in the original box and has been lovingly cared for.

I think I have finally decided to change the way I host Pearls and Lace Thursday. I still want to blog and share some pretties with you, but I don't think I am going to be hosting the Pearls and Lace Thursday parties every week any more. I think I might just host it once a month instead. With that decision made, I will hopefully feel less like I HAVE to blog and more like I WANT to blog!!
Would y'all please give me your honest opinions and let me know what you think?? I don't want to make an issue of it, but I think it's time I relax the pressure on myself!!
Let me be sure and tell you all that I LOVE to share my pretties with you and I LOVE to have you come by and visit me. In fact, I have been so blessed this last year with so many lovely people visiting and following and leaving comments and sharing their posts that I have been overwhelmed! I have made some lovely friendships and hope that I have been an inspiration to each of you. I'm not quitting, just gearing down a bit. I hope that you all will be blessed!
Lots of hugs to you! Blessings, Doni

I, personally, don't blog as often as I used to because my TIME has different priorities now. You must do what you feel is right for you and that feeling of obligation need not overpower your sense of peace. The idea of a once a month party seems like a really good idea! It would be something to look forward to and to enjoy. Anticipation is a large part of the fun for any event. Good luck!♥♫

I agree with Marilyn. Do what feels right for you. I blog because I want to. Although I have always combined my crafty and personal things on one, I recently started a second blog just for the person jumble that I am working through right now. It's a more private space and I am finding it freeing to spend time there. It also allows me the freedom to post and run quickly - so to speak - at maggiegracecreates.

By all means do what is best for YOU.

Much love.

I love looking at all the beautiful pieces you share with us, Doni, but I totally agree that it should be at YOUR own pace. Social Media can be TOO demanding at times, and that includes blogging. Sometimes, I think that the pressure is self-inflicted. Honestly, I can't read EVERY post from EVERY blog that I follow. . .so take your time. . .you'll still keep your followers.

By the way, I love this special piece you shared with us today. I can just envision the beautiful bride who may have worn this on her special day. Thank you for sharing the scripture as well. Have a beautiful weekend!

It's always a joy to visit, to be inspired and encouraged when I visit here.

Life moves along, as do our priorities, things change.

We shouldn't feel burdened to share something we enjoy.

Do what your heart tells you. Be at rest.

Doni, we love your beautiful posts and coming to your parties, but it should be fun and not an obligation.
We will happily visit your blog whenever you decide. Be Happy!

Hello Dear Doni, I think it is important for us to enjoy our blogs. I think if it begins to feel like a job then the intrinsic value of blogging can be lost. I think of it as sort of a best friend. We come together, we talk, we share and it should be relaxing and cathartic. I think a once a month Pearls and Lace is a fabulous idea. We can still share our post along with your beautiful treasures and it will be fun. More important you can take care of you and relax. Hugs, Beverly

Hello dear Doni

I saw your comment on Lilla's blog so I followed to see where you live!!!!
NO I'm really not a stalker, but I adore lace and fine fabrics too, so it's lovely to meet ' a like minded' soul like you.

Oh this is such an exquisite wedding bib - I would love to know it's background and how old it is.
I'm thinking you probably don't know or you would have shared it here.
I would have fitted into the era this gem came from - elegance is timeless.

Lovely to meet you
hugs
Shane

First, I love that lace collar. Whenever I get busy with life, I just don't blog as often and it seems no one notices lol! I think we are our toughest critic. I do one linky party a year and it is all I want to do! There is no rules.....Enjoy the journey...Whatever that may be. We will be here, we aren't going anywhere

Well I just found your blog and love it! I already followed you on Pinterest--at least I think so--and love your pictures already...I also love the fact that so many bloggers share their love of God...Since I just found you, I will read your blog whether once, twice a week or once a month...You have to do what is best for you!

Hugs, Jeannie

Hello sweet Doni, I have missed you !
I can understand not having the urge to blog. A few months ago I was still blogging 5 times a week and now I don't blog at all. I adore my blog but I do agree that there is a certain pressure to blog regulary. This pressure only comes from ourselves though and not others. This is the forst time in a while that I have even popped over to the blog world to visit. I am 2 weeks off from being a fully qualified florist and that excites me beyond belief. That is now where my passion lies and where I now choose to spend my time. You and I will always be friends and I will always be back to visit you.
love and hugs xoxoxo

I think I have some of that blue fabric in my stash in SD. but I won't be able to check on it for another 6 weeks or so. Are you in a hurry or is that soon enough? If you still want me to check email me at: venusgma@yahoo.com Love your lace and your pictures. So pretty.
