Pearls and Lace Thursday #118 Redwork Sampler and New Year's Resolutions

Did you make a New Year's Resolution?
I did.
Mine is to NOT make a New Year's Resolution because there's no way I'd finish it!
That's what happened last year, and here's the proof!

My resolution last year?  To finish at least ONE big project without starting another one.
I don't know what I was thinking.  After all, this was a HUGE project with about a billion stitches!

I do love the reds though.  I've used DMC floss # 115 to work it with one thread on 28 count cloth.
It was so tiny (to me) that I had to use 3.0 readers glasses to see it!
I'm on the last of it now, and hopefully will get it finished soon.  No promises on when that will be...
but I've been busy!

We've had so many days of rain (praise the LORD!), that it's been cloudy.  The morning I took these pictures I did them in shifts as the sun came up.  I can't get over how different the lighting is over the span of just a few minutes!!

Maybe I'll finish by the end of January??

It's time for Pearls and Lace Thursday!  I usually try to post on Wednesdays so be on the lookout for it weekly.  Just add the url code from your blog post to the link below to join!
I couldn't believe it when I had a look at my blog over the holidays....there were so many new followers that I was just so excited!  Welcome to each of you!
May you have a blessed week,
Doni

Oh my gosh! Doni, that is so BEAUTIFUL! I love the red thread. Was it verigated? That definitely looks like a major project. You've done a great job on it.

You have done a nice job on your project. I have to only start one thing, or I would never accomplish anything.

Hi Doni,
You have a lot of courage
to work on such a huge project !!

It is beautiful !

This morning I found something strange going on. On my blog your
button disappeared and another came up on the same spot. It's no blogger, only an email adres is shown. I found your button on a list there. I wrote you an email last week, but now I'm wondering. Did you change your emailadres and your button ?
Hope you'll email me.

Hugs, Wilma.

Doni!!!!! Oh....did you know cross stitching was my FIRST Love, that I was aware of, as far as creative outlet goes? As a child I did many crafts and gifts for family and friends, but at 16 I started to cross stitch and it became an obsession, in 1977..I even made my own patterns, it was just beginning to come back in popularity. Oh, those days...I think you have sparked a desire to finish something!! LOL I am trying....fingers crossed....to focus on our bedroom and I have a sampler that has been "in process", I can hear your gasp already, since ......1989.....I think I will set a goal to finish it. I may have to borrow your glasses however, my eyesight is not what it used to be either. And it is on 32 count linen....I think...it has been too long. I even have the frame already...can you believe that? I will let you know when I it! Hopefully before the end of the year! I LOVE your red work, I love your blog page, my heart just skips a few beats when I look at your page...I think we are floss, ribbon, lace and pearls addicts...Heaven Help Us!
Hugs to your heart,
Betsy
