It's NOT My Thyroid!!

Finally....
Enough energy to think again, to want to sit at the computer, and enough energy to take care of a litter of these little guys...or girls:

The picture above is one of 6 babies from our litter of Dachshund puppies.  Let me know if you're interested!!

And the news about my health is that I'm now a Diabetic.  Hmmm...shouldn't have been surprised really.
I knew I had family with diabetes, so I should have known it would have caught up with me too, but not until I was OLDER....you know??  Plus, I really thought it was my thyroid again.
But, I'm SO thankful the Doctor immediately diagnosed me.
I am now under his care and feeling much better, but still trying to get the diet down!

Old pictures are better than no pictures, right?  So perhaps by next week when all gets said and done, I'll be busy with my camera once again and will have some new pictures for you.  I even have some new items to share with you!
I'd like to hug each of you who left comments and emails for me because you each had the most wonderful things to say.  You are so encouraging and as I read each comment, I knew that you were praying and hoping for the best for me.  I just can't thank you all enough.  I hope I was able to get to you, but please excuse me if I didn't thank you each personally.  This blog has been so much fun for me, not only because I get to have fun taking pictures of lovelies (one of my favorite things), but because I've met some of the most wonderful people who live all over the world!  Delighted is the word...and thankful.
May God bless each of you,
Doni

I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis although I can imagine the relief in finally knowing what is going on. My husband was diagnosed with diabetes years ago and dealing with his, and my, health issues I have done quite a bit of research on turning around one's health through nutrition. If interested, I highly recommend reading books on the paleo diet. In the mean time, I have a blog about this diet which you can read by going here; http://paleoforchristians.blogspot.com
Please feel free to email me any questions you might have or if you just want to talk, I'm here for you.

Hi Doni!
I'm so sorry about the diabetes. It runs in my family too and I'm always a little on edge about it when I get a blood test. I hope it will be easily managed for you or better yet, you'll be able to get rid of it. At least you know what the problem is, and that's got to be a relief in itself right?

That puppy is the CUTEST!! I wish I could take them all!*winks* Vanna

I am so sorry about your new diagnosis, Doni; it definitely explains why you have been feeling so tired and run down lately.: ( On the plus side, you won't be facing thyroid surgery any time soon!

I hope and pray that dietary changes and meds, if needed, will have you feeling like a new woman in no time at all!: )

xoxo

I feel your pain. 2 years I found a large lump in my neck. Thyroide cancer. I had surgery that friday, they took out half my thyroide and it was benine. 1 year ago I was told I was pre-diabetic. I'm still trying to get the diet down. My heart goes out to you.

come visit, I'll give you a cup of spiced cider and a cookie and you can see my new cottage.

Doni,
I am feeling rather odd for the last week and a half and will be going to the doctor this week, it will be interesting to see what comes out of it. maybe too much thyroid or not enough anymore....but it is unusual symptoms...my pharmacist said it could be too much or n ot enough again. I've been checking my sugar levels and they all seem okay. We will see!
hugs to you! So glad you are feeling a bit better now.
