It's my Thyroid...

Oh how I miss my blogging friends and working on pretty posts for you!
You see, I have hypo-thyroidism that has been in remission for over 2 years, but now it's back in all of its exhaustion and other lovely things not worth mentioning.
At least I know what it IS, and I'm blessed that my Doctor had an appointment open before the end of November for me!
Next Monday!  Hooray!
Now I don't usually look forward to seeing a Doctor, but this time, I know he will fix me up.
I may have to have surgery this time, just don't know yet.
But, at least we're going to start the race and see what lies ahead.
If any of you have experienced the thyroid issues that I have, you know how yucky I feel right now.
So, I just wanted to catch y'all up, and let you know that I WILL be back...hopefully soon!

Now, I want to thank each and every one of you who read my previous post about my Adoption Story.
You ladies are so sweet and you've exhorted me so much.  Hugs and thanks to you all.
You are are each so sweet and special to me.

Many blessings to you,
Doni

Doni,
I was recently diagnosed with Hashimotto's Thyroiditis. I have antibodies that are destroying my thyroid and have caused a multi nodule goiter to form on the thyroid. I have been placed on Synthroid which has helped very much. Working night shift, I am normally tired but for a time, I almost could not get out of bed. I was also diagnosed with IBS which goes hand in hand with thyroid problems and auto immune diseases.
My current blood work is good but as the antibodies destroy my thyroid, the medication will have to be increased.
Hang in there and I hope you feel better soon....

Hugs,
Deb

Hi Doni! I am new to your blog, but I wanted to let you know that I will be praying for you. Our God is the greatest Healer and what a blessing it is knowing we rest in His Hands.

Love in Christ,
Stephanie

Aww, Doni, I'm sorry that you have been feeling so miserable.: ( I have Hashimoto's and other autoimmune disorders as well, and I can never tell what's causing my periods of worse-than-usual fatigue.

I will be praying for an encouraging appointment with your doctor on Monday, in the hopes that he can come up with a new regimen for you (perhaps adding a T3 supplement in addition to the T4--Synthroid or Levoxyl, whichever you take) and that you can avoid surgery at least for the time being.

I'll keep you in my prayers, too, Deb. And thank you, Stephanie, for reminding all of us about the truest source of our strength and healing.

Doni,I hope all goes well at the doctors next week. my dear daughter has an under active Thyroid for years now,so I know how sick it can make you. She has had so many doctors and different medications which can cause weight gain and mood swings and over tiredness. Now with a very good doctor it looks like it is under control I will be thinking of you. xx

Hope they are able to get you on the right dose of meds to help. Thyroid issues are such a nuisance to deal with.

Dearest Doni,

I am so very glad that I found you tonight.
You are such an inspiration to me. I read your adoption story and I cried.
I strolled through your beautiful craft room. Love all the pictures of your precious things.
I loved seeing all the little cards scattered here and there, with the beloved Bible verses. Where can I get those?

I will be saying prayers for you my dear new friend, that the Lord will be your strength and comfort while you sort out your thyroid issues with your Dr. My mother has had Hypo and Hyper thyroidism problems over the years. Mom is 92 and still takes medicine everyday for it!

God Bless You Doni,

Susan
