Pearls and Lace Thursday #107 Piles and Piles of Lace and Grace

Piles, Stacks, Mounds,
whatever the word, there's nothing better than having LOTS of LACE!
At least that's what I was thinking.
Lately I've collected a LOT of lace pieces and have carefully stacked them on my sewing space.
These are going to be eithere used for crafts or saved as part of my faves collection.
And so sorry about the lighting...but WE GOT RAIN!

Whether white or cream or almost brown, I love them.  Crocheted, Tatted, Needle laces, or Bobbin laces, the hours and hours of time that they represent give them worth.
The women of the past will be remembered by their handwork.
I wonder if any of my handwork will be of worth in the future?
One thing is for sure though... what I DO is NOT what matters.
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior;
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
Titus 3:5-7

HIS mercy
HIS grace

Abundant gifts from HIM.  Not something we do or muster up in ourselves.

I'm adding a link below if you'd like to share this week for Pearls and Lace Thursday.
I pray you will be blessed this week!

Doni, I wish I could find such beautiful samples of lace here.

Just thought I would let you know that the little porcelain baby that was in the gift parcel you sent me Has had her nappy painted and I am in the process of making her a little bed with creamy lace. I will post a photo when she's finished.xx jeanette

Your lace collection is amazing! I have a few pieces that I keep in a big glass cannisterpon a shelf above my sewing machine. I can see it, but it stays dust fee.
So glad you are getting rain. We need some here.

What beautiful craftsmanship. I wonder how many ladies still craft these lovelies by hand.

Just the word "Lace" gives me goosebumps of sheer delight! Oh How I LOVE IT SO! I do NOT think we can ever have enough and yes I always think of the ladies who showed off their talents through their intricate works of art.
Now I must go back and study all your pictures again and again... AND YES, I do have trunks and trunks of treasures of my own..."Ahhhh, Life is Good"!
Have a fun weekend,
Hugs,
Donna

People will always treasure lace - you just can't throw it away! I use even the tiniest scrap, and am always on the lookout for vintage, aged, previously loved... perfect for my journals.

Happy Pink Saturday!

You've got some beautiful pieces of lace there. The verse in Psalms and Hebrews 12 - go very well together. I'll have to revisit them together. It's very difficult to understand it simply is God's grace and mercy - that we can't add to it - no matter how hard we try. And as I discover that more and more it's so very liberating. Of course, it scrapes against others who believe they can add when you're letting go. But, it'll all "come out in the wash".

Enjoyed your post and thoughts this morning. Happy Pink Saturday!
