Pearls and Lace Thursday #97 Pastel Hues

Pastels.

Lovely combinations of muted colors.

Spring, summer, flowers, light.

They evoke a memory for me of my Grandmother who especially loved purple hues, all combined in beautiful flowers she loved and items she chose to have in her home.

The hydrangeas I showed in my last post actually did double duty for me.

I used them in this vignette to set off the remarkable crochet heart pillows!

"Deep in unfathomable mines

Of never-failing skill,

He treasures up His bright designs,

And works His sovereign will."

Knowing God is Sovereign has been one of the most important treasures I count as mine.

There is not one random molecule. 

The blending of colors from pinks to blues to purples and yellows...it's just amazing!

And the lovely folds of satin ribbon, smooth and lovely.

My Hydrangeas!

Do you ever get soooo busy you can't even post on your blog?

Then again, I think I can't do so if I don't have some pretty pictures to share...

So with that in mind, I'd like to share my pretty hydrangeas with you!

My first ever, grown at the house, glorious hydrangeas!

My photography skills get a big fat FAIL today, but at least I got some pics of them.

I will be drying them upside down, so I hope they hold this color for awhile.

Anybody have any failproof ways of drying??

I also wanted to show off my new vase too!  It's NOT vintage, nor is it antique.  But it's new to me, and I LOVE the gorgeous flowers and birds...butterflies and colors!!

I also wanted to let you know that I'm planning to have Pearls and Lace Thursday this week!!

Pearls and Lace Thursday #96 Pearl Buttons, Salt Spoons, Dried Roses, Lace, and a Winner!

Don't you just love pearl buttons?  I have used these many times in my posts, and I know they'll see lots of other uses as the years go by, but I love them and they make the most charming additions not only to my posts, but my craft room.  This week I have displayed the whole jar on a platter, and used the collection of tiny salt spoons as a cute addition.

The lustre of the buttons has captured my heart.

The shades of whites are incredible.

Add a vintage piece of lace, and some faded roses, and it just doesn't get much better.

Well, yes it does.  God's Word.

My New Pink Mirror that Almost Wasn't

Have you ever seen something at a shop, and you fell in love with it, and then NOT bought it?

I did.  BUT, I turned around, drove thirty miles BACK to the store, and bought it!!

A pink mirror.  With etching.  And chippy pink paint.

It was the PERFECT Pink, and the Perfect size.

Wanna see??

Now when I saw it hanging there at her shop, it made my heart happy seeing it....

And when I left the store (finally), I had talked myself out of it.

But...it kept calling my name.  As mile after mile ticked its way under my car, it called louder and louder!!

So I turned around, called her, and she put it at the front for me!

Joy of joys...even my husband likes it!!

I took some pictures of her space at the flea market, so if you're in Mineola, Texas, be sure and stop by and see her pretties!

I'm in love with this chippy door...it is soooooo cool!  The quilt hanging behind it gives me some great ideas!

I love looking at all the beautiful ways people decorate their shops.  So many awesome ideas are utilized, and I find so many beautiful vignettes that catch my eye.

Pearls and Lace Thursday #93 A Giveaway for my 2nd Anniversary!

I really can't believe I've only been blogging now for two years...and then it seems like for a WHOLE two years??? Wow!  And another milestone is that there are 500 plus of you who FOLLOW ME!!

I'm so honored.  And I'm excited.  It's you who makes this fun! 

I love sharing pretty things with you online, so now I'd like to share a few pretties with one of you.

I am having a Giveaway starting today, and it will last for two weeks.  On Wednesday, May 16th at noon, it will end.  I will then take all the names and pick a winner!

One person will win, but you are all winners in my book!

Here's a look at what you could win:

My last post I showed y'all some thread winders that I had made.  These two will be included in the giveaway, as well as lace/fabric roses, ribbon, lace, vintage threads,

leather buttons and carded buttons,

hymn pages and dictionary pages (hidden!), as well as a piece of the gorgeous flowered applique lace I showed you a few weeks ago.
