Hand Painted Pretties On The Table

These are some more of the lovely items I recently bought from sweet Paula in Missouri!  Be sure and see the post here for more information about her gorgeous shop!  My husband and I were looking over the items I posted about in the last post, and so I decided to get everything out and put it on the dining room table.  Won't you have a seat and maybe I can get us a bite to nibble on while we chat.

I have a number of items that I've found over the last year that I added to the table, a set of handmade placemats that were crocheted in small stitches...and I have a set of twelve!!  What an awesome find that was!  The spoons are recent finds as well.

The salt and pepper shakers were from etsy, and the cups, although not all matching, came from a little shop near me that had a whole table full of hand painted items...and my HUSBAND found them!!

The napkins are some of my favorites, and although I only have four of them, they will be a part of my collection forever.  The bordered plate below was from the Goodwill store...a set of five little plates, but today they will serve as saucers.

Do you prefer lemon or cream with your tea?
I'll be having coffee too, so if you'd prefer some coffee, I'll get you some.

If I had some pretty pink petit-fours I think they would look adorable on these plates.
Maybe even some tiny pink iced cupcakes, but you'll have to use your imagination...as with the tea and coffee, they don't exist.  Maybe some day I can have a REAL party and I'll get out all the pretty hand painted lovelies again.

So hoping you enjoy your Sunday as well as your week.  I'll be joining the link parties below, so be sure and join us for lots of pretty posts.
Also, this week I will be starting up Pearls and Lace Thursday again after a few weeks off.
Be sure and come back to join me and share some of your pretties with us!!  It doesn't have to be pearls or lace, just something pretty that makes you happy!
Blessings to you!
Doni

A Few Recent Finds and a Touch of Pink

Just wanted to share a few recent finds today...these were some gorgeous hand-painted pieces I got from the Lovely Paula in Missouri (see original post here).
They have a hint of pink around them!!
Lovely flowers and delicate handles.  Although the creamer and sugar belong int he same set, the covered piece (does anyone know what I should call it? Is it for preserves or jelly?)
goes so well, I will keep them together.

Again, my photography lacks a LOT, but you can still see the pink band along the middle.
Hoping you are all having a marvelous May, and please remember to pray for those affected by the tornados as well as the flooding!!
Blessings, Doni

Whites for Wednesday's Link Party

A Huge Congratulations to Kathleen at Faded Charm Cottage for 100 White Wednesday Posts!
Be sure and check out all of the lovely posts and join in with your own pretties!
I'm sharing a new find full of old finds!
This wooden box is covered in a vintage tapestry like material that makes it unique, but also gorgeous!
Glass topped, hinged, the perfect spot to store all of my lace trims.  I have spent a LOT of time winding these babies and now have a lovely display so that I can enjoy them even though they are not being used.  Hope you enjoy the pictures:

I used the plastic canvas trimmed to fit into the space so that the clothes pins would stand up.  Great to use functionally, but it needs to look nicer.  I need to find something to cover it with...any suggestions?
Congratulations Kathleen!!

Hope you like my past Pinks!

A perfume and powder jar duo I bought when I was just a kid...on my BIKE, at a garage sale in my neighborhood.  I know I used my babysitting money to get it.  AND, I can still show you which house I got it from!!  Now I know I'm old, but my memory is still working....some days!!

Have a Lovely Pink Saturday!
Blessings, Doni

I am always so excited when I see a new comment, and the week leading up to today have been wonderful.  Y'all are some awesome ladies!!  AND, you all have a great find to share that really excited me to read about.  I think they should have something like that in a magazine for a whole page...people writing in to share their neatest find!
The one listed below was shared by the winner of this Spring Giveaway.
And before I give the winner's name, Many thanks to each of you for participating with me in this Giveaway as well as Pearls and Lace Thursdays.  This week and next week I will not be posting a Linky Party, but will be back in a few weeks with another Linky party.

The winner and her comment:

Ramona, The Paper Princess said...

The coolest thing I ever found while treasure hunting was a wonderful old bible that someone had discarded because the cover had torn from its spine. It is a KJV bible that has special commentary on the book of Revelation and events to come. I was amazed it was discarded and available for so cheap - I hope to one day find someone who can fix the cover for me. In the meantime, I take special care when I use it but it has proven to be an invaluable reference!

Ramona, be sure and email me with your address so that I can send you your box of goodies!!!
Hoping you all have a lovely week,
Blessings, Doni

Pearls and Lace Thursday #46; and Last Week for Spring Giveaway!!!

Only one more week left for the Giveaway I'm having!!!

I'm adding the pillow pictured below to the Giveaway!!!  If you want to enter, be sure and follow the rules posted here...I would hate for you to think you've entered, but haven't.
This Giveaway ends May 10th, 2011 at midnight.

On to the Party!
Pearls!!  I found three sets of GORGEOUS pearls at a very special Antique shop last week.
My HUSBAND bought them for me!!!

I thought the clasps were so sweet, and I'm so excited about them.  I think they're lovely.
And, I'd like to introduce you to my newest friend, Paula.  She owns the Somewhere In Time Antiques Shop
in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  Located along the Mississippi River, right up at the Wall!!!

She told us the most amazing history of her family and the area where we were, and with all the flooding and chances that the levee would be blasted open, well, we were enthralled.  Texas might have storms and flooding, but not like the Mississippi River flooding.  And we witnessed numerous spots that were flooding all along the trip.
The picture below was taken on the east side of the bridge from Cape Girardeau into Illinois.
Again, we were amazed.

As we headed back west into Cape Girardeau and approached the bridge over the Mississippi River, we saw the sun break forth from the clouds.
To all those affected by the flooding, to all those who have lost your homes and loved ones from the recent storms, know that God will make your way....
May His Light shine on you...

OK...last week...be sure and get your entries in.
And also, please join me for Pearls and Lace Thursday!!
You do NOT have to have a post that shows pearls or lace, but some thing special that you love.  We love beautiful things and we want to see your pretties!
Please do NOT add a link for a blog, but your blog post url, link back to this post,
and please no Etsy, Ebay or sales posts.

Blessings,
Doni
